Nicolas
Giuseppone, professor at the University of Strasbourg and director of the
Molecular and Supramolecular Synthesis and Self-Assembly (SAMS) team at the
Charles Sadron Institute (CNRS), is on the highly selective list of ERC
Advanced Grant 2025 recipients. This funding will enable the recruitment of
around ten people over five years to develop self-assembled nanoscale molecular
machines capable of moving and changing shape on command. These new active
materials possess certain characteristics of living organisms, qualities sought
after in many fields, particularly for their medical and robotic applications.
