The platform has several types of microscopes: 

  • Optical microscopy. 
  • Confocal microscopy.
  • Scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
  • Transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
  • Atomic-force microscopy (AFM). 
and the equipments for sample preparation. 

The platform has developed, among others, a unique expertise in cryo-microscopy. We have the equipments to implement:

  • Solvated frozen thin films for cryo-TEM.
  • Sample preparations for cryo-SEM.
  • Freeze fractures for the study of gels or bulk materials.
  • Cryo-cuts for the study of bulk materials (TEM, AFM).

The atomic force microscopes (AFM) are dedicated to surface characterization in air and in aqueous solution. These instruments also offer the possibility to map the mechanical and electrical properties of your systems and to conduct temperature studies.
