Main research topics
Interested in supramolecular chemistry and organic electronics, I have had the opportunity to study and develop supramolecular systems to improve energy technologies during my career. Having completed my thesis on the preparation of systems with multiple hydrogen bonds and the self-assembly of pi-conjugated systems by DNA, I continued to conduct my research at the interface of chemistry and physico-chemistry. During my post-doctoral fellowship in Chicago (Northwestern University) in the United States, I worked on the fabrication of organic solar cells with hydrogen bonded semiconductors. These studies showed that it was possible to increase the efficiency of solar cells by 50% with hydrogen bonds. However, there is still no clear answer regarding the advantages of hydrogen bonds in organic photovoltaics. Since my recruitment at the CNRS in 2015 (although I officially started in 2016) while continuing my research in the field of hydrogen bonds in semiconductor materials, I have started to develop a systematic study to know all the parameters concerning the influence of hydrogen bonds on organic electronic. Since 2017 and 2018, thanks to IRTG and LabEx funding, we have obtained the first results of our systematic study. This information is very important to pursue my long-term scientific goal: implementing hydrogen bonds in semiconductors to obtain high quality devices. On the other hand, in collaboration with Prof. Seki (Japan), I will start the study on charge transport and spin state in chiral supramolecular self-assemblies. We hope to understand the Chiral Induced Spin Selectivity Effect (CISS) by applying electrodeless techniques capable of measuring charge transport and spins.
