ICS students are in two different doctoral schools: ED182 and Ed222.

Enrollment

Before the enrollment in a Doctoral School, you need to hold a Masters degree (i.e. sufficient ECTS score).
If it is not the case (particularly for the students coming outside of the EU), you need to prove that your degree is equivalent to a Masters degree.
To do this you can visit ENIC-NARIC to see the process for your country.

Enrollment for the first year of the PhD takes place from the middle of July to the end of October.
Enrollment for the second year of the PhD takes place from the middle of July to the end of September.

The procedure to follow to subscribe to register is available on the website of your doctoral school. This latter is available in case of troubles at any stage of your enrollment.

Additional assignments or mentoring [monitorats]

There are different additional activities [monitorats] in which a PhD student can be engaged:

  • teaching
  • dissemination of scientific culture
  • valorization of research results
  • or expertise
Each PhD student has the possibility to sign up for one of these missions, spending 1/6th (32 days) of his/her time on the additional activity and being paid a supplementary of about 170 € net per month.
To apply for an additional assignment, you need to directly contact the place where you wish to perform the activity. Otherwise, you can simply send your application to be placed where it is a demand, according to your expertise in case of an open position.
Regardless of the activity, you are required to complete a request form for an additional activity (in a timely manner). This form has to be sent to your Doctoral School, usually before the beginning of July – please contact your Doctoral School for the exact dates.
